Who:  Beginning and first year flute students

What: Weekly one hour flute classes.  Beginner class focuses on helping students get off to a great start playing the flute with emphasis on developing good tone, correct hand positions, posture and music reading skills.  The class for first year students emphasizes flute specific exercises, ensembles and studies designed to improve tone, finger technique, music reading and rhythm skills.  Class size limited to five (5) students each.

Dr. Cate Hummel holds bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees in flute performance.  She has been teaching flute for 29 years and is known as one of the top flute instructors in all of Chicagoland. 

Where: Ellman’s Music, 508 W. 5th Ave., Naperville (behind Naperville North H.S.) 

When:  Saturdays starting September 12 at 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM

2) To focus on flute skills for success in band in school.  Home practice assignments given at each class.
